2002 was the first year for the Valero Golf League, nine hole team play starting at 4:30 pm every Thursday afternoon at Kennedy G.C. in Napa. The League was started by Neal Stachowicz and ran from April through October with four teams of four to six players competing against each other in a combination of medal and match play. Each week two players from one team would play two players from another team according to a regular schedule. Every four weeks was position week requiring four players from each team to play, the first place team against the second place team, the third against the fourth. At the end of the regular season the first place team (the Rovers) received a bye, the second place team ( the Seadlings ) and third place team (the Hackers Unlimited) played off on Sept. 5th to determine who would play the top team. The Hackers Unlimited won. The Championship match this year held on Sept. 12th ended in a tie requiring a tie breaker to determine the first Valero Golf League Championship Team. The first place Rovers Team won, the team members were Mike and Sandie Cook, Mike DeHart, Karl Fails, Ken Marden and team captain Dave Pearce. The second place team was the Hackers Unlimited consisting of team captain Sheldon Custer, Willie Grinslade, Debbie and Sonny Menzel and Rob Yarbrough. The third place team was the Seadlings consisting of Tony Alilin, Mike Katz, Dan Kilkenny, Paul Masta, Al Middleton and team captain Neal Stachowicz. Finishing in last place after waiting too long to make their championship run was Team Albatross which included Bob Boyer, Rick Carr, John Hill, Captain Matt Hurst and Glen Overman. Year long individual honors went to Mike Cook, low gross of 40, Mike DeHart and Neal Stachowicz, low net of 32 and Sheldon Custer who was the most improved player. In post season tournament play; in the two club tournament it was Dan Kilkenny with a net 33, in the two person best-ball it was Mike DeHart – Ken Marden with a net 31, in the two person worst ball it was Neal Stachowicz – Dan Kilkenny with a net 44, in the three club tournament it was Mike DeHart with a net 37 and in the point tournament it was Debbie Menzel winning with 18 points.

The Seadlings were in first place for the most of the year but Team Albatross took over first place with four weeks to go and finished on top for the regular season. At the end of the regular season the first place team (Team Albatross) received a bye, the second place team (the Seadlings) and third place team (the Rovers) played off on August 14th to determine who would play the top team. The Seadlings won and advanced on to play Team Albatross on August 21st. Play was halted after one and two holes of play due to a lighting and thunder rainstorm. The Championship match was rescheduled for Sept. 4th. Play was resumed from where it had left off with Team Albatross winning the match 5 1/2 to 2 1/2 taking the championship over the Seadlings. Team Albatross team members were Bob Boyer, Rick Carr, John Hill, team captain Matt Hurst, Glenn Overman, Kevin Peck and John Ortiz. The second place team was the Seadlings consisting of Bill and Harriet Buckalew, Mike Goring, Mike Katz, Dan Kilkenny, Henry Martinez, Al Middleton, and team captain Neal Stachowicz. The third place team was the Rovers consisting of Mike and Sandie Cook, Mike DeHart, Karl Fails, team captain Dave Pearce and Bob Simonson. Finishing in fourth place was Birdies-R-Us team consisting of Mike Connally, Connie and Sheldon Custer, Ken Dorsey, Andrew Estrada, Sue Gustofson and team captain Mike Osada. The Hackers Unlimited finished in fifth place. The team consisted of Hugh Connell, Willie Grinslade, team captain Debbie Menzel, Sonny Menzel, Ann and Ron Pearman and Rob Yarbrough. Year long individual honors went to Mike Cook, low gross of 38, Andrew Estrada and Sue Gustofson, low net of 30 and Bob Boyer who was the most improved player. In post season tournament play; in the two club tournament it was Mike DeHart with a net 36, in the two person best-ball it was the Glenn Overman – Kevin Peck team with a net 28, in the two person worst ball it was Rick Carr – Kevin Peck team with a net 45, in the three club tournament it was Rob Yarbrough with a net 38 and in the point tournament it was Debbie Menzel winning with 18 points.

The Rovers were in first place for the start of the year in May, in June Team Albatross and the Hackers Unlimited took over, the Rovers came back to first in July, Team Albatross then came back to take the lead in August and kept it through the end of the regular season. At the end of the regular season the first place team (Team Albatross) received a bye, the second place team ( the Rovers ) and third place team (the Hackers Unlimited) played off on August 19th to determine who would play the top team. The Rovers won 6.0 to 2.0 and advanced on to play Team Albatross on August 26th. The Championship match was played with the The Rovers winning 9.5 to 0.5 to claim their second League Championship in the past three years. The first place team the Rovers consisted of Mike and Sandie Cook, new team captain Mike DeHart, Steve Duff, Karl Fails, Dave Pearce and Bob Simonson. Team Albatross team members were Bob Boyer, Rick Carr, Stephanie George, team captain Matt Hurst, Mitch Miller, Glenn Overman and Kevin Peck. The Hackers Unlimited finished in third place. The team consisted of Phil Eubanks, Willie Grinslade, Al Harp, team captain Debbie Menzel, Sonny Menzel, Don O’Donnell and Rob Yarbrough. Finishing in fourth place was the Seadlings consisting of John Endicott, Alan Hepp, Mike Katz, Dan Kilkenny, Tom Klemesh, Al Middleton, Linda Moore and team captain Neal Stachowicz. Finishing in fifth place was Birdies-R-Us team consisting of Connie and Sheldon Custer, Jerry Crumrine, Andrew Estrada, team captain Sue Gustofson, Gary Jeffcoats and Marge Talbot. Year long individual honors went to Mike Cook, low gross of 39, Gary Jeffcoats, low net of 30 in the regular season ( Steve Duff, the Rovers secret weapon had a net 29 in the Championship finals) and Andrew Estrada who had the most improved handicap. In post season tournament play; in the two club tournament it was Dave Pearce with a net 41 and John Endicott with a gross 48, in the two person best-ball it was the Mike Katz – Tom Klemesh team with a new record net 26, in the two person worst ball it was Jerry Crumrine – Neal Stachowicz team with a new record net 41, and in the point tournament it was Jerry Crumrine winning with a new record 19 points. The Luck of the Draw tournament was won by Neal Stachowicz and this ended the third season of the Valero Golf League.
2005 was the fourth year for the Valero Golf League, nine hole team play starting officially at 4:30 pm every Thursday afternoon at the new venue of Blue Rock Springs – East G.C. in Vallejo. The League ran from mid April through September. Team Albatross was in first place for the start of the year in April and May but after the first position week the Seadlings took over the top spot which they held through most of June. Team Albatross came back to first again in late June but again after the second position week it was the Seadlings on top again. through July and August and kept it through the end of the regular season. At the end of the regular season the first place team (The Seadlings) received a bye, the second place team (Team Albatross) and third place team (the Hackers Unlimited) played off on August 25th to determine who would play the top team. Team Albatross won 6.0 to 2.0 and advanced on to play the Seadlings on September 1st. The Championship match was played with the The Seadlings winning 7.0 to 3.0 to claim their first League Championship. The first place team the Seadlings consisted of Steve Blotzer, John Endicott, Michael Katz, Tom Klemish, Al Middleton, team captain Neal Stachowicz and Gene Stangel. Team Albatross team members were Dave Barnholt, Rick Carr, Stephanie George, team captain Matt Hurst, Mitch Miller, Mike Osada, Glenn Overman and Kevin Peck. Year long individual honors went to Bob Simonsion, low gross of 38, low net of 27 in the regular season went to Karl Fails, Chris Kelly and Bob Simonson. In the playoffs low gross went to Steve Blotzer, John Endicott, Kevin Peck and Neal Stachowicz with 44’s. Low net in the playoffs went to Will Grinslade with a 28. Steve Duff had the most improved handicap for the year. Rankings were developed for individuals in the Golf League with Kevin Peck finishing the year in the # 1 position. During the season John Endicott held the # 1 spot for 7 weeks, Kevin Peck for 6 weeks, Matt Hurst for 3 weeks and Mike DeHart, Steve Duff and Glenn Overman for 1 week. John, Kevin and Matt due to their excellent play set numerous new records for the league as did the champion Seadlings team. In post season tournament play; in the three club tournament it was Sheldon Custer with a new record net 33 and Chris Kelly and Neal Stachowicz with gross 45’s, in the two person best-ball it was the Steve Duff – Chris Kelly team with a net 32 and finishing the year it was Jerry Crumrine breaking his own league record in the point tournament with 24 points.

The Seadlings won 6.0 to 2.0 and advanced on to play the Hackers on August 24th. The Championship match was one of the closest since the start of the league. The Seadlings won by 5 1/2 to 4 1/2, the match not being determined until the last foursome played out on the last hole. This gave the Seadlings their second straight championship. In the league individual rankings Will Grinslade and Al Middleton finishing the year in the # 1 position. During the season Will Grinslade broke the highest player ranking % record and held or shared the # 1 spot for 15 weeks and 15 consecutive weeks, both new league records, Al Middleton held or shared # 1 spot for 5 weeks, Michael Katz for 3 weeks, Kevin Peck for 2 weeks with Matt Hurst and John Endicott for 1 week each. The Hackers Unlimited tied numerous league records, Will Grinslade and Al Middleton due to their excellent play set or tied numerous records for the league. In post season tournament play; in the three club tournament it was Gary Jeffcoats and Don Wilson with a new record net 32’s and Neal Stachowicz with gross 43, in the two person best-ball it was the Jerry Crumrine- Neal Stachowicz team with a net 27. In the bingo, bango bongo tournament it was Tom Kelly, John Endicott and Trent Van Nieuwburg. On September 27th there was play on the back nine of the west course followed by an awards banquet where league president Sue Gustofson presented the league awards.

Birdies-R-Us and the Rovers were in first place to start off the year, then Team Albatross took over and held first through week # 7, Birdie-R-Us took over in week # 8 and held first place until the end of the regular season. At the end of the regular season the first place team (Birdies-R-Us) received a bye, the second place teams the Hackers Unlimited and Team Albatross played off on August 10th to determine who would play the top team. Team Albatross won 6.5 to 1.5 and advanced on to play Birdies-R-Us on August 17th. The Championship match was pretty much one sided with Birdies-R-Us winning by a score of 7.0 to 1.0. Al Middleton held # 1 spot for 4 weeks to start off the year. The Birdies-R-Us set a new league record for most team medal points won. The Championship match was very close coming down to the final foursome on the final hole with the Rovers winning by a score of 6.0 to 4.0. This gave the Rovers their third league championship. AJ Jones had the most improved handicap for the year. In the league individual rankings Glenn Campbell finished the year in the # 1 position. During the season Glenn tied the highest player ranking % record with a perfect 10 and held the # 1 spot for the final 8 weeks (and 8 consecutive weeks). Jim Rollans held # 1 spot for 4 weeks to start off the year followed by Sue Gustofson who then held it for the next 6 weeks The Birdies-R-Us team tied the league record for most team match points won, most total team points won and the total team winning percentage. Glenn Campbell set 4 new league records, tied 3 league records, set 2 new runner-up records and tied 2 more runner-up records. Eddie Periera, John Endicott and Neal Stachowicz tied a couple of low gross records. Casey Walker set a new low net runner-up record for the regular season, also Neal Stachowicz in the playoffs. League President Bob Boyer set a new runner-up record in most improved handicap. Andrew Estrada tied the runner-up record for match points winning % through the playoffs. Andrew Estrada and JD Johnson held the # 1 spot for 7 weeks each. Michael Katz held the # 1 spot for 3 weeks, Will grinslade for 2 weeks, Trent VanNieuwburg for for one week. The Seadlings set a new runner-up record for the most team match points. In post season tournament play; in the two person best-ball it was Glenn Overman and Dave Watson teaming up to to win with a net 27 (setting a new runner-up record). The two person worst-ball tournament was won by the team of John Endicott and Neal Stachowicz with a net 38. In the stableford + handicap tournament it was Jim Rollans in first place with 24 points (setting a new runner-up record). The last tournament of the year was the was the low net tournament won by Chad Rollans with a net 30. This was followed by awards, food and drinks provided by League President Bob Boyer. The Valero Golf League had another good year.
2010 was the ninth year for the Valero Golf League. Big changes took place this year as the venue was changed from Blue Rock East to Blue Rock West and play was now held on Wednesday’s instead of Thursday’s. Farm League play was now held on Thursday’s. It was still nine hole team play starting officially at 4:30 pm every Wednesday. The League ran from mid April through September. Steve Duff took over the League President duties from Bob Boyer. The Seadlings started off the year in first place for week # 1, the Rovers took over 1st for weeks 2 – 5, the Seadlings retook first place and held it from week # 6 until the end of the regular season. At the end of the regular season the first place team (The Seadlings) received a bye, the second place team, the Rovers and the third place finisher Team Albatross played off on August 11th to determine who would play the top team. The Rovers team won 8.5 to 3.5 and advanced on to play the Seadlings on August 19th. As it was in 2006, 2008 & 2009 the Championship match was very close coming down to the final foursome on the final hole with the Seadlings and the Rovers tying by a score of 7.0 to 7.0. The Seadlings won the low net agragate tie breaker by 4 strokes and this gave them their third league championship. Year long individual honors went to Eddie Periera with a low gross of 38 in the regular season, a low net of 28 in the regular season went to Lauren Bird. In the playoffs the low gross went to Dave Pearce with a 37. Low net in the playoffs also went to Dave Pearce with a 31. Michael Katz had the most improved handicap for the year. Glenn Campbell made the first hole in one in league history. In the league individual rankings Michael Katz finished the year in the year in the # 1 position. Glenn Overman held the # 1 spot for 13 weeks. Jim Rollans and Casey Walker held the # 1 spot for 2 weeks, Matt Hurst co-held it for 1 week. The Seadlings set new records for the most team match points, the most total team points and the team total winning percentage. Jim Rollans tied the match point winning percentage in the regular season for the second time. In post season tournament play; in the two person scramble it was Jim Rollans and Chad Rollans teaming up for the win. In the stableford points + handicap tournament it was Mike DeHart winning. Jerry Dower won the 2 – Club tournament. The two person best-ball tournament was won by the team of Todd Lopez and Chris Wilburn. The final tournament was the low net which was won by Debbie Menzel. 2011 was the tenth year for the Valero Golf League. Play continued at Blue Rock West on Wednesday’s. Farm League play was held on Thursday’s. The League continued to be nine hole team play starting officially at 4:30 pm every Wednesday. The League ran from mid April through September. Steve Duff continued as the League President. 2011 was arguably the most competitive season ever between the six teams. The 2010 league finals playoff teams the Seadlings and the Rovers started off the year tied for first place in week # 1, the Seadlings took over 1st for week # 2, Birdies – R -Us took first place in week # 3, then the Seadlings in week # 4, this switching back and forth between the Seadlings and Birdies- R-Us continued until week # 9 when the Mulligans took # 1 spot and held it through week # 10. The Rovers took over first place in week # 11 and held it to week # 12. In week # 13 the Mulligans retook first place and held it through weeks # 14 & 15. In week # 16, end of the regular season the Rovers took first place with the Mulligans second and the Seadlings third. At the end of the regular season the first place team (The Rovers) received a bye, the second place team, the Mulligans and the third place finisher the Seadlings played off on August 17th to determine who would play the top team. The Mulligans and the Seadlings tied their match 4.0 to 4.0 and went to the low aggregate net score tie breaker to determine the winner. The Mulligans won the tie breaker 153 to 163 and advanced on to play the Rovers on August 24th. As it was in 2006, 2008, 2009 & 2010 the Championship match was very close coming down to the final foursome on the final hole with the Mulligans and the Rovers tying by a score of 5.0 to 5.0. The low net agragate tie breaker was applied but the two teams tied again 184 to 184. The second tie breaker, match play on a hole by hole basis starting with the # 1 handicap gave the edge to the Rovers 3 to 1. This gave the Rovers their fourth league championship. Due to a change in the Refinery shift work schedule the League went from 6 teams of 7 players each to 5 teams of 8 players each. Team Albatross was dropped. Steve Duff continued as the League President. 2012 started out like it was going to be a competitive season but it wasn’t. The defending champion Rovers started off the year in first place in week # 1, Birdies-R-Us took over 1st for week # 2, the Hackers Unlimited took first place in week # 3 and then dominated play for the rest of the year holding first place until the end of the regular season. At the end of the regular season the first place team ( The Hackers Unlimited ) received a bye, the second place team, Birdies-R-Us and the third place finisher the Seadlings played off on August 15th to determine who would play the top team. The Seadlings trounced the Birdies 9.5 to 0.5 and advanced on to play the Hackers on August 22nd. In week 15 the Mulligans took first place and held it until the end of the regular season (by 1/2 point). At the end of the regular season the first place team ( The Mulligans ) received a bye, the second place team, the Hackers and the third place finisher the Seadlings played off on August 21st to determine who would play the top team. The Seadlings won over the Hackers 6.5 to 5.5 and advanced on to play the Mulligans on August 28th. In the Championship Finals it was the Mulligans winning over the Seadlings 6.0 to 2.0. This gave the Mulligans their first league championship. Chris Wilburn took it over in Week 11 but was rejoined by Brad Martin in week # 12 and they held it together until week 13. Brad came back again to claim # 1 in week # 17 and held it until the end of the playoffs. The Mulligans took first place and held it for weeks 5 and 6. The Slice Motifs started their run and held first place from week # 7 until week # 14. The Mulligans retook the top spot in week # 15 and were joined by the Birdies in week # 16. For the first time in league history two teams ended the regular season tied for first place. This required an additional playoff between those two teams to determine which team had the # 1 position going into the championship playoffs. On August 20th the Mulligans won their match against the Birdies 3.5 to 2.5. On August 27th the Birdies won their match against the Slice Motifs 4.0 to 2.0. and advanced on to play the Mulligans in the championship match on September 3rd. In the championship it was the Mulligans and the Birdies tied at 4.0 to 4.0. A tie breaker, the low net aggregate net score was used to determine the winner. The Mulligans narrowly won by 2 strokes, 155 to 157. to win back to back championships. For the first time in league history three teams ended the regular season tied for third place. This required an additional playoff between those three teams to determine which team would face the Rovers in the first round of the playoffs. On August 12th in a 3 way playoff for third place the Birdies won with 6.0 points followed by the Seadlings with 3.5 points and the Slice Motifs with 2.5 points. On August 19th the Rovers won their first round match against the Birdies 8.0 to 2.0. In the League Championship Finals match on August 26th it was the Rovers over the Mulligans by a score of 6.0 to 4.0 claiming their 5th League Championship. In the individual rankings this year; Steve Duff started the year in the #1 position and held it by himself through week #2. Eddie Pereira joined Steve in the #1 position for weeks #3 & 4. Steve Duff took #1 by himself for weeks 5 & 6. Eddie Pereira took over by himself in week #7 and held it until week #15 when he was joined by Josh Lundholm for one week. Eddie continued by himself for week #16 and into the first round of playoffs. After the championship finals were completed, Dexter Nigos took over the #1 ranking. In post season play, it was Chad and Jim Rollans teaming up to win the 2 person scramble; Neal Stachowicz won the modified stableford points tournament; Andrew Estrada won the 1 person 2 ball scramble tournament. In the 3 club tournament it was George Cruz taking 1st place; in the 2 person alternate hole tournament, it was the team of George Cruz and James Johnson winning first place. 2017 was the 16th year for the Valero Golf League, play continued at Blue Rock West on Wednesday’s. Fun league play was held on Thursday’s on the East course. The league continued to be nine hole team play starting officially at 4:30 pm every Wednesday. Playing were 6 teams of 8 players each. Steve Duff continued as as the League President, Jim Rollans was the League Statistician. 2017 started out with the Hackers Unlimited holding first place. In week # 2 the Seadlings took first and held it until week # 3. There was a three week break in play between weeks 2 & 3 due to refinery operating problems, In week # 4 it was the Mulligans who held it until week # 9, in week # 10 the Rovers had first for one week, in week # 11 the Birds then took first and held it until the end of the regular season. At the end of the regular season the first place team (The Birds) received a bye. The second place team the Mulligans and the third place team, the Hackers played off on September 6th to determine who would play the top team. The Mulligans won 9.5 to 0.5 and advanced on to play the Birds on September 13th. The Mulligans won over the Birds by a score of 5.5 to 4.5 and claimed their third league championship. In new records the team of Cruz-Schiwal smashed the old record by 10 strokes in the Two Person Alternate Shot on the front nine of the West Course. Setting an initial record on the West course, back nine three club tournament, low gross was James Johnson with a gross 43. The initial low net score in that tournament was set by Yves Marekani at even par. In the Two Person Scramble on the front nine of the East course the team of Hoehn-Marquez set the initial record with a 31. In the individual rankings this year; the rankings were not done this year as the information was not available, they will return in 2020, also not available was the medal and match points and possibly some course records on the back nines of both courses. In post season play, it was the team of Hoehn-Marquez winning the 2–Person Scramble tournament which was held on the front nine of the East course. Play continued at the Blue Rock West and East courses. The league continued to be nine hole team play starting officially at 4:30 pm every Wednesday. Playing were 6 teams of 8 players each. Steve Duff continued as the League President, Sean Black took over as the League Statistician. 2020 started out with the Hackers Unlimited holding first place for the first 4 weeks, the Seadlings took the top spot for the next 5 weeks then the Rovers for the next 4 weeks, the Birds tied the Rovers in week # 14 but the Seadlings came through to take first place by themselves in the final week of the regular season. At the end of the regular season the first place team (the Seadlings) received a bye. The Birds and the Rovers who tied for second place, played off to determine who would play the Seadlings in the Championship Finals. The Birds won and advanced on to play the Seadlings on October 14th, 2020. The Seadlings won 7.0 to 3.0 and claimed their fourth league championship. The finals match was not videoed this year. They won their first playoff match and then faced the Mulligans in the Finals. The Rovers went on to win 5.5 to 2.5 and claim their seventh league championship. The Hackers Unlimited finished fifth, the team consisted of Ben LaFountain, Mo Abueida, Jake Finnegan, Ryan Murphy, Steve Millicevich, Tim Rickabaugh, Bradley Rupert and Danny Weir. The Tennis Pros finished sixth, the team consisted of Doug Nelson, Fred Foote, Sanjeet Kamat, Ben Osborne, Eddie Pereira Jr., Pat Ponce, Dale Ramirez and Antonio Santiago. In the individual rankings this year; Sean Black started out the year as # 1 and held it through week # 2, James Johnson took over # 1 in week # 3 and held it through week # 7, in week # 8 Steve Duff took # 1 and held it for one week. In week # 9 Dan Weir took # 1 for one week. In week # 10 Steve Duff held # 1 until the end of Week # 13. In week # 14 Pete Asselin and Dexter Nigos held # 1 together through week # 15. After the first round of the playoffs Dexter Nigos took # 1 by himself. After the Championship Finals Steve Duff finished the year as # 1 and ended up the # 1 ranked golfer for the year. Yearlong individual honors went to Pete Asselin who was the SOLO CUP Champion for the year for the second year in a row. John Cupp was the runner-up. Pete Asselin broke the record for low gross score on Blue Rock – West, back nine, white tees with a 35 and Blue Rock East front nine, white tees with an even par 35. Josh Lundholm tied the runner-up record, low gross on Blue Rock – East front nine white tees. Nick Alexander and Pete Asselin tied the runner-up record for low gross score in the playoffs on Blue Rock West front nine. Nick Alexander made an Eagle two on the par four 4th hole on Blue Rock west in the playoffs. In Post season play the two person scramble tournament was won by the team of Steve Duff and Jason Allen. The VGL completed another entire season and we look forward to another great season in 2024.
2024 was the 23rd year for the Valero Golf League, play continued on the Blue Rock West and East courses. The league continued to be nine hole team play starting officially at 4:30 pm every Wednesday. Playing were 6 teams of 8 players each. Steve Duff continued as the League President, Ken Hoehn continued as the League Statistician. 2024 started out with the Hackers Unlimited in first place after weeks # 1 & 2. The Mulligans took over in week # 3, then the Hackers again for weeks # 4 & 5. The Mulligans then took the top spot in week # 6 and held it until week # 9. The Birds took first in week # 10, the Mulligans again in week # 11, the Hackers took over in week # 12 and held it until week # 14. The Mulligans made a big run and ended the regular season in the top spot. This year a change in the playoff format now has the first place team at the end of the regular season select which 2nd, 3rd or 4th place team it wants to play in the first round of the playoffs, the remaining two teams playoff for the second first round in the playoffs. On Sept. 11th the first place team (the Mulligans) chose the 4th place Tennis Pros in the first round leaving the second place Birds playing the third place Hackers in the other playoff spot. The Tennis Pros won their match over the Mulligans 5.5 to 2.5 and the Birds won their match over the Hackers 7.0 to 1.0. The Championship match was played on a very hot day ( 102 degrees at tee off) Oct. 2nd with the Birds winning over the Tennis Pros 8.0 to 2.0 claiming their fourth league championship. The finals match was videoed this year by Mike Cook. The Birds finished first, the team consisted of James Johnson, Pete Asselin, Ray Castro, George Cruz., Andrew Estrada, Brian Engell, Jim Minkel, and Bill Schroll. The Tennis Pros finished second, the team consisted of Doug Nelson, Fred Foote, Sanjeet Kamat, Ben Osborne, Eddie Pereira Jr., Pat Ponce, Dale Ramirez and Antonio Santiago. The Mulligans finished third, the team consisted of Sean Black, Ed Colonna, Mike Burzynski, John Cupp, Ron Hall, Shawn Sladek, Eddie Pereira, and Michael Thetford. The Seadlings finished fifth, the team consisted of Ken Hoehn, Jason Allen, Glenn Campbell, Josh Lundholm, Bill Quessenberry, Antony Stelly, Mike Trevino, and Matt Covert. The Rovers finished sixth, the team consisted of Steve Duff, Nick Alexander, Frank Hartig, Serena Coker, Tyler Mortensen, Tony Schiwal, Brad Stephens and Rob Winn. In the individual rankings this year; Steve Duff started out the year as # 1 and held it through week # 2, Ed Colonna took over # 1 in week # 3 and held it one week. Steve Duff retook # 1 in week #4 and held it through week # 6. Glenn Campbell took over # 1 in week # 7 and held it until week # 10. Sean Hall took # 1 in week # 11 for one week. Ray Castro achieved # 1 in week # 12 and held it through the regular season and both playoffs to finish the year and be the # 1 ranked golfer for 2024. Yearlong individual honors went to Ray Castro who broke the record for the most medal points won through the playoffs, tied the medal point winning percentage in the regular season and through the playoffs and tied the runner-up record for total points through the playoffs. Pete Asselin who broke the record in the playoffs for low gross score on Blue Rock – East, front nine, white tees with a 35. Antonio Santiago broke the playoff record for low net score on Blue Rock – East, front nine, white tees with a net 30. Glenn Campbell tied the runner-up record in the regular season for the low net score on Blue Rock – West front nine white tees with a 26. The most improved handicaps for the year were; 1st – Glenn Campbell, 12-6, 2nd – Dale Ramirez, 6-4, 3rd – Ron Hall, 10-7, 4th – Ray Castro, 16-12 and 5th – Mike Burzynski, 13-10. No official post season play was held because of some operational problems at the refinery. The SOLO CUP was not held this year. The VGL completed another entire season and we look forward to another great season in 2025. Mike Cook
