Valero Golf League Playoffs

     2002 – At the end of the regular season the first place team (the Rovers) received a bye, the second place team (the Seadlings) and third place team (the Hackers Unlimited) played off on Sept. 5th to determine who would play the top team. The Hackers Unlimited won the tie breaker. The Championship match this year held on Sept. 12th ended in another tie requiring a tie breaker to determine the first Valero Golf League Championship Team. The first place Rovers Team won.

     2003 – At the end of the regular season the first place team (Team Albatross) received a bye, the second place team (the Seadlings) and third place team (the Rovers) played off on August 14th to determine who would play the top team. The Seadlings won and advanced on to play Team Albatross on August 21st. Play was halted after one and two holes of play due to a lighting and thunder rainstorm. The Championship match was rescheduled for Sept. 4th. Play was resumed from where it had left off with Team Albatross winning the match 5 1/2 to 2 1/2  taking the League Championship over the Seadlings.

     2004 – At the end of the regular season the first place team (Team Albatross) received a bye, the second place team (the Rovers) and third place team (the Hackers Unlimited) played off on August 19th to determine who would play the top team. The Rovers won 6.0 to 2.0 and advanced on to play Team Albatross on August 26th. The Championship match was played with the Rovers winning 9.5 to 0.5 to claim their second League Championship in the past three years.

     2005 – At the end of the regular season the first place team (The Seadlings) received a bye, the second place team (Team Albatross) and third place team (the Hackers Unlimited) played off on August 25th to determine who would play the top team. Team Albatross won 6.0 to 2.0 and advanced on to play the Seadlings on September 1st. The Championship match was played with the The Seadlings winning 7.0 to 3.0 to claim their first League Championship.

     2006 – At the end of the regular season the first place team (the Hackers Unlimited) received a bye, the second place team (the Seadlings) and the third place team (Birdies-R-Us) played off on August 17th to determine who would play the top team. The Seadlings won 6.0 to 2.0 and advanced on to play the Hackers on August 24th. The Championship match was one of the closest since the start of the league. The Seadlings won by 5 1/2 to 4 1/2, the match not being determined until the last foursome played out on the last hole. This gave the Seadlings their second straight League Championship.

   2007 – At the end of the regular season the first place team (Birdies-R-Us) received a bye, the second place team (the Hackers Unlimited) and the third place team (Team Albatross) played off on August 10th to determine who would play the top team. Team Albatross won 6.5 to 1.5 and advanced on to play Birdies-R-Us on August 17th. The Championship match was pretty much one sided with Birdies-R-Us winning by a score of  7.0 to 1.0. This gave Birdies-R-Us their first League Championship. 

     2008 – At the end of the regular season the first place team (Birdies-R-Us) received a bye, the second place team (the Seadlings) and the third place team (the Rovers) played off on August 7th to determine who would play the top team. The Rovers team won 5.5 to 4.5 and advanced on to play Birdies-R-Us on August 14th. The Championship match was very close coming down to the final foursome on the final hole with the Rovers winning by a score of  6.0 to 4.0. This gave the Rovers their third League Championship.

     2009 – At the end of the regular season the first place team (The Seadlings) received a bye, the second place team (Team Albatross) and the third place team (the Hackers Unlimited) played off on August 13th to determine who would play the top team. The Hackers Unlimited team won 5.0 to 5.0 (won the low agragate net score tie breaker) and advanced on to play the Seadlings on August 20th. As it was in 2006 & 2008 the Championship match was very close coming down to the final foursome on the final hole with the Hackers Unlimited winning by a score of  6.5 to 5.5. This gave the Hackers their first League Championship.

     2010 – At the end of the regular season the first place team (The Seadlings) received a bye, the second place team (the Rovers) and the third place team (Team Albatross) played off on August 11th to determine who would play the top team. The Rovers team won 8.5 to 3.5 and advanced on to play the Seadlings on August 19th. As it was in 2006, 2008 & 2009 the match came down to the final foursome, The Rovers and the Seadlings tied with 7.0 points apiece. The Seadlings won the low agragate net score tie breaker by 4 strokes to claim their 3rd League Championship.

     2011 – At the end of the regular season the first place team (The Rovers) received a bye, the second place team, the Mulligans and the third place finisher the Seadlings played off on August 17th to determine who would play the top team. The Mulligans and the Seadlings tied their match 4.0 to 4.0 and went to the low aggregate net score tie breaker to determine the winner. The Mulligans won the tie breaker 153 to 163 and advanced on to play the Rovers on August 24th. As it was in 2006, 2008, 2009 & 2010 the Championship match was very close coming down to the final foursome on the final hole with the Mulligans and the Rovers tying by a score of  5.0 to 5.0. The low net agragate tie breaker was applied but the two teams tied again 184 to 184. The second tie breaker, match play on a hole by hole basis starting with the # 1 handicap gave the edge to the Rovers 3 to 1. This gave the Rovers their fourth League Championship.
 
     2012 – At the end of the regular season the first place team (The Hackers) received a bye. The second place team, Birdies-R-Us and the third place team the Seadlings played off on August 15th to determine who would play the top team. The Seadlings won 9.5 to 0.5 and advanced on to play the Hackers Unlimited on August 22nd. As it was in 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 the Championship match was very close coming down to the final foursome on the final hole. The Hackers won the match 7.5 to 4.5 to claim their second League Championship.

     2013 – At the end of the regular season the first place team (The Mulligans) received a bye. The second place team, the Hackers and the third place team the Seadlings played off on August 21st to determine who would play the top team. The Seadlings won 6.5 to 5.5 and advanced on to play the Mulligans on August 28th. The determined Mulligans won the match 6.0 to 2.0 and claimed their first League Championship.

     2014 – At the end of the regular season two teams tied for first place for the first time in league history. The Mulligans and the Birdies-R-Us tied for first and played off on August 20th with the Mulligans winning 3.5 to 2.5. On August 27th the Birdies won their match against the Slice Motifs 4.0 to 2.0 and advanced on to play the Mulligans in the Championship match on September 3rd. In the championship it was the Mulligans and the Birdies tied at 4.0 to 4.0. A tie breaker, low net aggregate net score was used to determine the winner. The Mulligans narrowly won by 2 strokes, 155 to 157 to win back to back championships.

     2015 – At the end of the regular season the first place team (The Mulligans) received a bye. For the first time in league history three teams tied for third place, an extra playoff round was held on August 12th to determine the third place team. Birdies-R-Us won with 6.0 points over the Seadlings with 3.5 points and the Slice Motofs with 2.5 points. On August 19th the Birdies met the second place Rovers to see which team would face the Mulligans in the championship finals, the Rovers won by a score of 8.0 to 2.0. On August 26th the two time defending champion Mulligans faced off with the Rovers who were vying for their 5th league championship. In a close match the Rovers won 6.0 to 4.0 to claim # 5.

     2016 – At the end of the regular season the first place team (The Mulligans) received a bye. The second place team Birdies-R-Us and the third place team, the Seadlings played off on August 17th to determine who would play the top team. The Birdies won 7.5 to 0.5 and advanced on to play the Mulligans on August 24th. The Birdies won over the Mulligans who had reached the finals in four straight years by a score of 7.5 to 6.5 and claim their second league championship.
 
     2017 – At the end of the regular season the first place team (The Birds) received a bye. The second place team the Mulligans and the third place team, the Hackers played off on September 6th to determine who would play the top team. The Mulligans won 9.5 to 0.5 and advanced on to play the Birds on September 13th. The Mulligans won over the Birds by a score of 5.5 to 4.5 and claimed their third league championship.

     2018 – At the end of the regular season the first place team (The Hackers Unlimited) received a bye. The second place team the Mulligans and the third place team, the Tennis Pros played off on August 15th to determine who would play rhe top team. The Tennis Pros won 4.5 to 3.5 and advanced on to play the Hackers on August 22nd. The Hackers won over the Tennis Pros by a score of 11.0 to 1.0 to win their third league championship.

   2019 – At the end of the regular season the first place team (The Rovers) received a bye. The second place team the Birds and the third place team, the Seadlings played off on August 21st to determine who would play the top team. The Birds won 7.0 to 5.0 and advanced on to play the Rovers on August 28th. The Rovers won over the Birds by a score of 6.5 to 5.5 to win their sixth league championship.

2020 – At the end of the regular season the first place team (The Seadlings) received a bye. The Birds and the Rovers tied for second place and played off to determine who would play the top team. The Birds won and advanced on to play the Seadlings on October 14th. The Seadlings won over the Birds by a score of 7.0 to 3.0 to win their fourth league championship.

2021 – At the end of the regular season the first place team (The Rovers) received a bye. The second place team the Hackers Unlimited and the third place team the Tennis Pros played off on August 4th to determine who would play the top team. The Hackers Unlimited won 4.0 to 2.0 and advanced on to play the Rovers on August 11th. The Hackers Unlimited won over the Rovers by a score of 4.0 to 2.0 to win their fourth league championship.

2022 – At the end of the regular season the first place team (the Birds) received a bye. The Mulligans and the Tennis Pros played off on August 17th to determine who would play the Birds in the Championship Finals. The Mulligans won 3.5 to 2.5 and advanced on to play the Birds on August 24th, 2022. The Birds who lost in the championship finals in 2019 & 2020 decided enough was enough and went on to win 6.0 to 2.0 and claim their third league championship.

2023 – At the end of the regular season the first place team (the Mulligans) received a bye. The second place Birds and the third place Rovers played off on August 30th to determine who would play the Mulligans in the Championship Finals. The Rovers won 8.5 to 1.5 and advanced on to play the Mulligans on September 6th, 2023. The Rovers who found themselves in fourth place going into the final week of the season came through to finish in third place. They won their first playoff match and then faced the Mulligans in the Finals. The Rovers went on to win 5.5 to 2.5 and claim their seventh league championship.   

2024 – At the end of the regular season the first place team (the Mulligans) under the new playoff format chose to play the fourth place Tennis Pros. That put the second place Birds playing the third place Hackers. Both matches were played on Sept. 11th. It was the Tennis Pros over the Mulligans 5.5 to 2.5 and the Birds over the Hackers 7.0 to 1.0. The Championship match was played on Oct. 2nd with the Birds winning over the Tennis Pros 8.0 to 2.0, the Birds winning their 4th League Championship. The temperature at tee off for the finals match was 102 degrees F.
