Boyd Cook 1977 – 1999, Boyd was one of the best senior golfers in the club having won his first major at age 63, his last major at age 69 and his last tournament win at age 80. He was a self admitted poor iron player but excelled with his driver and fairway woods. Not too conservative, like Arnold Palmer if he had any chance at all he’d try the shot. He loved playing with what he called “the best group of people you could ever play with”. He set the low net scoring average record of 69.67, the record stood for 7 years. Boyd had the most tournament wins in the club for the decade of the 1980’s.
22 tournament wins, 57 top 3’s, 267 tour. points, 74.19 career net scoring average, 8 CP’s, 3 LD’s, 15 pyramid match wins, 1 eagle, 27 birdies and 3 major championships.
1980 – Won the Winners Tournament, was runner-up in the Points Championship, won the Scoring Championship, tied for the most tournament wins.
1981 – Was runner-up in the first Exxon Cup Tournament
1985 – Won the Pyramid Tournament, had the most tournament wins for the year
1986 – Won the Winners Tournament, won the Points Championship, tied for the most tournament wins
1987 – Was runner-up in the Winners Tournament
1997 – Was runner-up in the Scoring Average Championship, made an eagle 3 @ Paradise Valley GC (4th hole)
