The 1974 Exxon Golf Club season started at Franklin Canyon G.C. on April 7th. It was followed on April 28th with a tournament, followed by dinner and dancing at Silverado C.C. – North. The next tournament was at Blue Rock Springs G.C. on May 18th. All winners with the possible exception of Mickey Halverson at Silverado C.C. are unknown.

Green Tree G.C. was the site of our next tournament on June 2nd. Mike Cook won the second flight, the first flight winner is unknown.

On June 29th we played Kennedy G.C., the flight winners are unknown.

Sonoma National G.C. was played on August 3rd, Graham Barnes won the first flight even though he broke his putter in two after three putting the 9th green. Mike Cook won the second flight.

Old Chimney Rock G.C. was played on August 31st, the first flight winner is unknown, Mike Cook won the second flight.

The fourth annual Winners Tournament was played at Silverado C.C. – North on October 5th. Mike Cook won the tournament by one stroke after surviving a 10 on the par 5 sixteenth hole. Rollin Podwy finished in second place, the third place finisher is unknown. Mike also won the closest to the pin. ( this may have been the first closest to the pin ? )

Don Scribner retired as Tournament Director, John Ortiz and Dave Pearce will take over next year. Thanks Don for founding the club and running it the last four years.
